| The Four C's |
No two diamonds are alike.
That's right. Comparing diamonds can be a confusing process for some people. To make this process easier, there are four main criteria used to
describe the quality of a diamond. They are commonly referred to as the Four C's.
Color
Clarity
Cut
Carat
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This is proven once again when it comes to the diamond. The most important aspect of a
diamond is different for each person.
Diamonds are available as certified or uncertified. This refers to an independent gem laboratory grading a stone as to its quality and supplying
a detailed report. The most trusted lab in the jewelry industry is the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
A certification will increase the diamond's price, but is not necessary if you are comfortable with your jeweler and your diamond.
